Nevermind. I figured out another way. I'm going to invoke my transmit ISR using a TRAP instruction for my very first transmission after reset. In order to avoid the special case in my transmit routine, I'm going to send a dummy CAN frame from my TouCAN INIT routine with the TouCAN in loopback mode. Anybody know of a way to transmit your "first" CAN frame under interrupt control using the TouCAN? My transmit code is in the interrupt handler, but the TouCAN apparently won't give me a transmit interrupt until I've transmitted something. It's a catch-22. The book says I can't set a flag in the IFLAG register manually. And, I'd rather not call the body of my interrupt handler as a subroutine for the special case of my first transmission. Any ideas?
