Shyam, The MC68332 is a good part to use. What you might want to do is get with a distributor and get a particular part number and then get the distributor to get you a quote from the factory. As an aside here, there are 16, 20 and 25 MHz parts. Get the 25 MHz version because the 16's and 20's might very well be discontinued. the 25 Mhz version is exactly the same die and tested the same way. Motorola (my employer) likes to get rid of as many part numbers as they can and since almost all die meet the 25 MHz specs, they said why not just sell the 25 MHz part. This is why you here gossip about them discontinuing parts in the CPU32 line when in fact they are only consolidating the slower part numbers into a faster part number. So, you might want to look at the MC68332ACFC25. The "A" is automotive TPU code. A "G" is motion control TPU code. The "C" is 85 degree part, the "FC" is the package type and the "25" is for 25 MHz. We used to make a 3 volt version of the MC68332. I don't think we offer it anymore because sales were almost non-existant. If you like to take chances, you can probably get the part to work at 3.3 volts but if you do, it is up to you to make sure it totally works there. As I remember, the part would work up to about 16 MHz at 3.3 volts but this is something I am recalling from memory. regards, Charlie -----Original Message----- From: shyam_mali [mailto:shyam_mali@...] Sent: Monday, April 07, 2003 12:55 PM To: 68300@yahoogroups.com Subject: [68300] 68332 SDRAM interface Hi, I am a newcomer in this group and also a beginner in the 68000 series microcontrollers. I am looking forward to using the 68332. I am looking for some projects to get started, Is it possible to interface 68332 to standard SDRAM module/s. knowing that the tRC min is approx 80ns. Also i need to shift logic from 5V(68332) to 3.3V (SDRAM) I'll appreciate if i can get any kind of information to get started.
