Frank, You can indeed use the PE wiggler to write a serial number to an OFF BOARD EEPROM. (Just for you info, the wiggler is not good for programming the onboard flash of a part like the MC68F375. A programming algorithm is downloaded to RAM through the wiggler and the programming algorithm actually does the programming.) What you do is develop a macro which the PE software supports. Essentially, a macro is composed of the commands that the PE software uses, such as memory modify, register modify, etc. So, think about it this way. Are you able to use individual PE commands to program all the registers and memory and stuff to program the EEPROM? Well, if you can do that, then build a "macro" (this is a PE software function) that uses these commands. Then, all an operator has to do is call the macro. Of course, there is a problem with the serial number because it will change for each unit to be programmed. If this makes sense, good. If it doesn't, post another message and I will put in significantly more details. P&E does a nice job with supporting programming of Flash via the BDM port. Please advise me on using the BDM with 68332. Has anyone used the wiggler to support a manufacturing operation to write a board serial number to each of 4 serial eeproms hanging off the QSPI? Thanks, Frank Melear Charles-rdph40 wrote: > > Hello everyone, > > The old PE software "bit banged" the signals on the parallel port.
