I am extremely grateful that you provided this information in your e-mail.
This is the first time I've been made aware of this product discontinuance.
If you'll recall, I sent an e-mail to the group addressed to you
specifically discussing the MC68CK331CFC16 on April 22, 2002, back in the
days when the group was not on yahoo.  I am extremely disappointed in
Motorola's handling of this matter.  You'll see why I'm so disappointed if
you read the following e-mail received from Motorola April 17, 2002.  It
gives no indication that one month later the part would appear on a
discontinuation notice.  The wording of the request was made very specific
because answers to previous requests were so poor.

MOTOROLA:  You need to get your stories straight.  I need to hear from
someone in authority whether or not this part is available.

Thank you for your interest in Motorola. The MC68CK331CFC16 is a current and
active product for Motorola. The voltage is 2.7 to 3.6 volts and only comes
in a 16MHz version, and yes it is a 132pin PQFP package. It looks like we
may have some inventory in one of our locations in Europe, this is something
you need to have your Distributor check on we do not get involved in any
pricing or delivery of our products this is the Technical line. I hope this
information helps you out, if you have any further question please do not

I need to know if the following part is still available (distributors are
out of stock, and quoting indeterminate lead times), and if so, what the
lead time from Motorola would be:

Part number: MC68CK331CFC16

Please note, I am not interested in the generic 68000 series, only this
particular part, in this particular package.  It is a 3.3V part, in a 132
lead PQFP.  An existing design of ours utilized this part when it first came
out about 2 years ago, and we would like to reuse the design for a followup
product.  

If the part is still available, I would also like to know approximate
Motorola lead times, assuming all distributors are out of stock, so that we
know how fast we can get prototypes up and going.
