are no plans to ever bring out a 3 volt version of the MC68336 or MC68376.

I have
asked this question before but right now and for the forseeable future, there
are just no plans to characterize the part for 3 volt operation.
My own
personal guess is that the part will function at 3 volts without problems but it
would be up to the end user to verify this.
