Those other VERY cool environments were created by people far more clever than me - but I bet they'd be happy somebody is making use of them. > I was refering to the checkboxes in the OMS midi device setup dialogue. The fw1804 driver is > 1.4.0 I think I got it...boy, has it been a long time since I used OMS... Go ahead and create a New Studio Setup doc for the FW-1804. Now use the New Device command under the Studio menu - create a definition for the AN1x. Once you've created the definition, the little synth icon for your AN1x will appear in the Studio Setup Doc - click + drag the AN1x synth icon to the FW-1804 port from which it is physically connected. Remember to Save and Make Current, then you can use the Test Studio command to try it out! If you still have problems - you MIGHT need the old FireWire System Extensions for OS 9 (they are not part of Classic, go figure?!? HA Ha ha) I found a copy of v2.5 on Version Tracker and used TomeViewer to extract them and install them in the OS 9 System folder (I know, I know - I have no life...) I did a restart of Classic and the FW Extensions show in System Profiler - It's late and I'm tired, but I'll try and mount a FW drive or something to Classic tomorrow to test. If you need help with the Extensions, email me offline... > For further information I am running logic pro 7.2.3 on a g5 ppc dual 2 ghz. > I am using osx 10.4.9. > > I am starting to think that my problem maybe that I have a firewire > interface. Last year I helped one of the fellas on the list with a MOTU Fastlane that also worked. The trick is to find a USB MIDI Interface with OS 9 USB drivers. All the above do, but newer devices might not have them anymore. regards, Jon
