If you're looking for a VA synth that's not too expensive and is multitimbral, check out the Roland SH-32 (4 part multitimbral, 32-voice polyphonic). I just fiddled around with one in the NAMM show, and it seems kinda cool. It also has a more programmable arpeggiator than the AN1x has. No, I don't plan to replace my AN1x, but rather supplement it with the Roland.
