At least you have interests other than synths! What kind of car? What are you doing to it? ;-) I've never been fond of programming the AN1x using the hardware interface. The software editor helps, but since adding the Nova and Virus b to the studio I have not done any AN1x programming. The other two synths are so much more fun to work with (IMHO). Each of the synths has it's own unique sounds. The AN1x is very unique and I really like hearing it used in a track. It's a special sound. The same goes for the Virus b. It has it's own sound that you can often pick out in a mix. They seem to have personalities in the same way the vintage analogs did. The Nova is a little less unique that way (but I still love it). The Waldorf XT also has a very unique set of sounds. If you are not looking for another VA then it may be very interesting to you. > The last hardware effort was the Yamaha EX5, and that > wasn't a very successful one (I know, I have one :) ). Hey..... watch it! The EX5 is not what it was advertised to be, but it has it's own special personality (and sound) and one of the best user support groups available for any synth. ;-) By the way Jon.... Musicians Friend finally shipped the last 100 OB- 12s today. I look forward to that cool interface. It's been a long wait. Sayer
