Hi Jimmy, >Is there a way to adapt a breath controller for the AN1X? Has anyone >tried this? I would think breath controlled analog would be very cool. The Breath Controller is pretty much like a volume pedal in terms of electronics, with two very notable exceptions: It requires power from the cable, and it isn't very "linear" in response, requiring conversion of its data into a format that other devices expect. MIDI Solutions sells a Breath-to-MIDI adapter that works with the Yamaha BC-series. It's kind of pricey, though. If you're interested, contact me offline for details and price. There also used to be a Yamaha knobs-and-inputs box (similar to the Peavey PC-1600X) that had a BC input among its inputs. I used to own one back in the '80s, but I can't remember it's model number -- something like "YC-10" or similar. There may be other inline devices out there with support for BC.
