While not wanting to stretch the issue needlessly further, this is still
not different from any other Yamaha product, and musical products or even 
just 'products' in general. At some point, they go out of production, and 
when stocks run out, you can't buy the item anymore.

I had my doubts about support for out-of-production Yamaha products, but
in fact they created an mLAN interface for the EX series long after it
went out of production. They're more likely to make a loss on it than
anything else. Now that is what I call service.
