There is no bypass for the EQ. I set all my patches so the EQ is either neutral or a bit of a roll off on the treble frequency. I found a lot of the factory patches really crank up the EQ, some hyping the treble frequencies by as much as 10 db. To my ear, the AN1X sounds best with no effects or a little delay, played through a tube amp. Even when I record direct, I still like the sound dry. It sits in the mix better.
