There are some sounds that have been intriguing me. I think I heard the first on some Parliament Funkadelic Cd's and then they became ubiquitous in the rap and the gospel scenes. 1) One lead sound is best described as wormy and nasally. Lots of portamento. It's kinda irritating but distinctive. 2) A similar sound is like the above sound but heavily filtered almost to a sine/triangle wave. It's played like a whistle, 1-2- octaves above middle C. In good examples of them, they have a snarl, a bite instead of a glisten. I am having difficulty getting the same aggression and am usually to sweet/glisteny in my attempts. I would assume the trick is some kinda lfo modulation to heighten tension but I'm not sure with. Any advice on creating these sounds? Thanks in advance, Jerry
