You say 'started up Classic', but do you mean you started Classic within OS X or do you
have a dual boot machine and used Classic as your boot OS?

AFAIK, and my hands on experience bears this out, there is no method by which a
hardware MIDI Interface - USB or otherwise - can be addressed by OMS in Classic running
under OS X without the assistance of a helper application such as MIDIBridge9X

http://www.troikatronix.com/midibridge9x.html

I have read reports of users running OMS in Classic under OS 9 who have successfully
routed data between a Editor/Librarian in Classic to a Sequencer in OS X using virtual
links. And while I've run AN1xEdit in Classic to convert Voices into SysEx, but you are the
first and only user I know of who has established a link between the hardware and OS
without a help app (see above comments.)

Were you able to perform a full bulk dump or only a few voices at a time from the AN1x to
the MAc? Were you able to load a fulll bulk dump into the AN1x fromthe Mac or only
individual voices one at a time? What release of OS X are you running? I assume you are
running 9.2.2 for Classic? Which version of the M-Audio drivers did you install?

My experienc with M-Audio MIDI Interfaces - particularly under OS 9 - is contradictory to
yours. I happen to have a USB MIDISport 1x1 on hand and should be able to replicate your
configuration on either or both of my two Macs (the BeigeG4 or new G5.)

You can always use an add on specific to your sequencers: Mixer Maps or an Environment
layer, etc. See the Files section here at Yahoo! Groups for a selection.
