You know I hear what you are saying but I use programs a lot. I wonder if all the knobs output midi CC# or NRPN and if you can choose. I noted some are continuous variable, that is they have no stops, I would assume (bad to do) they might be NRPN. That only matters if, you plan on using it as a midi control along with it at the same time, you want to control it remote like or you want to have a midi control too to use to cut the number of keys you have.. etc...
