Try using the "Refresh Synth" command from the Util menu in AN1xEdit after performing 
the data transfer. Othwerwise it sounds as though you are following the correct procedure. 

I assume there is no error message when you initiate the data transfer? In my experience, 
some USB MIDI Interfaces have not been reliable when sending more the 8-12 Voices at a 
time, but there has always been some indication of an error when this occurs.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
