Thanks a lot for the post and I had always called it Baba O'Riley before but now that he's entered the "no-spin zone" or is that Bill O'Reilly I didn't want to call it that anymore. :) I had no idea it was actually done on a home organ, that's interesting and maybe gives me a little better insight into how to program that sound knowing that it's a repeating banjo part. That song and "Won't get fooled again" are two of my favorite songs by the Who and I think if I can get those synth type sounds down correctly they'll go over when we play. where he reveals the entire process. Don't forget to listen carefully, Townsend

believe that the sound we hear on Baba O'Riley is really a Lowrey home organ.
The model Pete used was a TBO-1, but for anyone wishing to recreate Baba O'
Riley, just pick one up the following models to do the same job: TLO, DSO, TLS,
TSO 25 and HR and GAK (seems to be the nearest). Pete is using a setting called
"marimba repeat." <SNIP>
