Low battery

Low battery

2010-02-17 by jadestarbaby

Hello,

I just got the "low Battery" message on my AN1x. In the manuel it states that I have to take it to an authorized yamaha service provider to have this done. Does anyone know whether this is really the case or can i do it myself. Also, when the battery is changed will I lose all my patches?? If so, is there a way to download my patches to my Mac??

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Robert

No you just buy a 2 dollar battery on amazon for ex, unscrew the
bottom, pop old battery out put new battery in. It's not even the
soldered type so it's a very simple operation. Dump any custom patches
first for safe keeping.

Search for a mac sysex utility. There are many to choose from at least
on pc. Free ones like midi ox. Manual tells you how to do a bulk dump
then.

I changed mine just last week funnily enough. One of the easier synths
as it's easily reachable and not soldered in. Be glad it wasn't like
the battery on my polysix ;)

YES, of course. The battery type is *CR2450*, it looks like a coin and
you can find it in electronics, computer or jewelry shops. The battery
is inside the AN1x (funny...) on the motherboard, near the back of the
case. Normally you cannot put it in the wrong way in its socket; the "+"
side is facing you, the "-" is the bottom of the socket. Obviously all
your beloved and favorite patches are gone.... Perform a "factory reset"
and then you can load your sounds from your computer

YES, unless you download them previously on your computer using AN1xedit
or even any software able to handle MIDI files. And obviously you have
to throw then back in your synth when the battery is replaced.
