re: anyone going for progressive rock sounds?

I use the AN1X for weird noises. I play intergalactic garage band music with some weird funk. My band plays all originals. I find the AN1X is perfect for adding a cool, distinctive sound that no one else has. I find when playing live, on a raucous tune, a good sound effect like a long filter sweep fits in great at the end-a big crescendo, band jumping up and down, vocalist foaming at the mouth, hit the weird synth sound and the audience goes ballistic. The EMU Vintage Keys Plus has killer Mellotron samples. I use the flute sound mixed with a little Moog lead patch in almost everything I play. My first synthesizer was a Korg DW 6000. It was usable, but only barely. I then got a Siel DK600 (an Opera 6) which sounded great but was so unreliable as to be unusable. Until I can afford a Symbolic Sounds Kyma system, the AN1X and the Vintage Keys do just about everything I need. Oh, I also want a Steinway Grand.
