According to the brochure:

61 Keys
64-voice polyphony
34 MB Soundset w 640 factory/512 user presets (expandable to 128mb)
3 ROM slots using roms from the E-mu Proteus sound library
16 programmable real time control parameters/preset
16 simultaneous/syncalbe ARPS
SuperBEATs interactive groove mode (w 16 trigger buttons)
24-but dual stere effects processor
Four 24-but analog outputs

It looks just like the blue E-mu keyboard on my website, except it's red.

Better and more informative than any other site.

Keep up the great work.

I Had A Dream...

No it's not as heartening or as revolutionary as Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr's dream, but I think the night after I went to NAMM (before I was able
to check out the Yamaha booth two days later) I actually dreamt that I
heard Yamaha was announcing it was putting the AN1x back into production
(no new features, just the same 1997 unit being manufactured again).

Of course it wasn't true, but what does this dream mean?

Could that mean that Dr. King was the chief engineer, who designed the AN1x,
to put an end to the prejudice against virtual analog synths ?!!

dr. MLK jr. said "don't judge by the color of skin but
by content of character". how very important those
words really are! they apply to everything.

some holidays get me down but this one lifts the
spirit!

his civil rights movement wasn't only for black people
but for all of the human population.

peace,

My synth is BLUE! It's ugly. I wanna red one, or a grey one, or a silver
one. And it's gotta have knobs.... BIG KNOBS! And it can't talk back or
want me to take it to expesive restaurants so it can order lobster and just
sit there and pick at it....

I'm sorry, I happen to think blue colored virtual analog synths are
superior, unless they are manufactured by a company whose name begins with
an "R." :) BLUE POWER!

Elson:

Thank you for that beautiful report. My compliments. Funnily enough I
found it off a link at the gas station, never realizing that e-
trinity was you!!

Well I learned something.

BTW, as to the SH32.... could you clarify something? Some Roland
reports indicate that the SH has a technique called "wave
acceleration" instead of modelled oscillators. This could make it a
rompler with some additional processing to liven up the samples.

Are you (or anyone) aware of any resolution to this question?

Thanks again,

Jerry

You know, I straight up asked the Roland rep at the NAMM show, "Is this
real virtual analog, or sampled waveforms?" His answer wasn't very clear.
He did say that there were sampled waveforms in the SH-32, but he was
talking about the drum sounds. Then he did some pitch about the "wave
acceleration" thing which supposedly allowed the unit to have such a high
polyphony. So I really don't know...I'm guessing this "wave acceleration"
thing is a hybrid of samples and VA technology...

These discussions about the Sh32 being VA or Rompler are both on the gasstation AND on my fav. www.dancetech.com em out...the discussions were pretty good...
