Hi all,

Just been layering a load of 'drones' onto Logic via the AN1x- Has anybody
noticed strange little 'pops' ?(Actually I remember a thread about poppping
sound some time ago- I'll look at the archive next)- Seem to get them when
the filter is open- and they are annoying the shit out of me- 'cos it's also
very hard to get rid of them. Seem to be getting them on long legato-type
strokes (they almost sound like feedback sinewaves- if you get my drift). Any
suggestions?

Tom :-(

This might save you some time and effort:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files/Tips%20and%20Tr
icks/tt_audible_pop_click.htm

Also, the OS v1.04 EPROM was suppose to correct a popping
noise when using the Sync Delay so you might double check
your effect settings...

Jon

Jon,

Couldn't get a link to your post- just kept on saying "Oops!"- And I don't
think it is the same thing- because my AN1x has been on for 3 days now- isn't
that enough time for it to warm up??- The delay is off too. I'm using a very
low phaser setting with no feedback- but that does seem to accentuate the
popping (although it is still there without the phaser)- Perhaps this is just
a cross we have to bare for the initial years of the Physical Modelling
synthesiser?

You'll have to cut&paste the link into your browser - this silly
Yahoo web post feature *always* messes up the wrap around
textfor a lengthy URL. Or you can just go to the Files section
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files then go to the Tips
and Tricks and you'll find the post...

...and to answer your other question - it didn't seem to make any
difference on my AN1x whether it had a chance to 'warm up' or
not - the problem was consistant. I've never been able to
reconcile the reports of the problem disappearing when the
AN1x had been on for a few days - there were too many reports
to the contrary...

Tom,
My suggestion would be to check all envelopes for quick changes. Are you using
the Free Envelope Generator? Look at it in AN1x Edit and check if there are any
abrupt changes being applied to any parameter. Since you're working on drones,
little things will stand out a lot if they change quickly.

cheers Ed, but I think Jim's come to the nearest conclusion- there are no
free eg's in the patch.
