hi, 

is there a program similar to AN1X GENETIX that can be used for 
plg150an files (anp. or ans. format)?

You could open the .anp file(s) in AN1xEdit and use the 
Randomize command - or - save the .anp as an .an1 in AN1xEdit 
and then use Genetix.

hi jon,

i checked if i could save the anp. file as an1. in an1x edit and it 
can't be done. i even exported an ans. file from an1x edit , then 
imported it into xg works AN expert editor but i can't even save as 
an1. format in that editor. any other way it can be done?

You can't save the .anp file as an .an1 in AN1xEdit? That's 
surprising - can you upload the file?

OK, I think I know what's going on: Use the OPEN command 
from within AN1xEdit and from the "List FIles of Type:" pop-up 
select 'AN1xEdit ANP Files' instead of '...AN1 Files' and you 
should be good to go ;-)

hi jon,

that's no problem. the problem is that i can't save a
anp. file to an1. format (so i could use the file in
an1x genetix). 

there has to be a way to save a anp. file as an1. ?

i wish an1x genetix could open anp. files.

also jon, i have some anp. files in the files section
of the group so you can test to see what is happening.

also i have the an1x editor in plg150an mode.

p.s i will try to make and upload a new file soon.

Okay, you are correct in that AN1xEdit will not convert an .an1 file 
to .anp but this is only true while in PLG150AN mode. Disable 
this option and you wll be good to go!!! I tested this on the .anp 
files included with AN1xEdit and one of my own .an1 files 
converted to .anp and back again.

hi jon,

i used the editor in an1x mode like you said and i
opened my anp. file and i was able to save it as an1.
format and now i can use my files in an1x genetix.
