The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

I was wondering how you get the midi in signal to go out the midi out of the 
an1x.  I have a kaysound 4902 controller which is ran into the midi in of my 
an1x, then the output from the an1x goes to a m audio quattro midi in port.  
The Tx channel on the an1x is on 1 and the kaysound is on 2.  

When assigning the midi channels to VSTis in Cubase SX I am only getting the 
control from the an1x.  If I plug the kaysound directly into the quattro then 
the kaysound will work, but not if running through the AN1x.

I am guessing there is a setting in the AN1x to allow midi input to be echoed 
through the output.

You need to use the MIDI Thru on the AN1x not the MIDI Out jack. Try 
this setup instead:

KS4902 MIDI Out -> AN1x MIDI In
AN1x MIDI Thru -> Quattro MIDI In
Quattro MIDI Out -> KS4902 MIDI In

I'm uncertain what benefit there is running the KS4902 in series with 
the AN1x - no doubt you have your reasons but it seems redundant to 
me.
