Check the filter type. The BEF doesn't change much when you change 
the cutoff. The resonance seems to make more timbral difference. 
Check to see if you have the filter velocity or the filter envelope 
set real high. Also see if you're in Dual mode. If you are, 
manipulating the filter knob will only change the filter for one of 
the voices. You need to go to the matrix and assign a controller for 
both scenes to change the cutoff. I like to set up both scenes that 
the X ribbon controller changes the cutoff, and the Z axis changes 
the resonance.

One time I was stumped. No knob worked. No matter how radical I 
changed the sound, nothing changed. I was panicking until I realized 
that I was playing the Vintage Keys-the AN1X volume was off.

Almost everyone's done this at least once. Usually with someone 
watching that you're trying to impress.

Yep - like the audience.   ):-(
I went through a whole set once with no synths because i forgot to turn one
tiny knob on my guitar.
