UNISON detune

UNISON detune

2003-06-05 by arnaldocortega

Using UNISON and legato mode, according to the manual I'll have 5
voices stacked. In the page 76 of the manual it's said that "When
UNISON mode is selected (...), multiple sounds are played with the
pitch of each sound slightly detuned. Unison Detune adjusts the
detuning of the VCO1 pitch in fine increments (...)"

My questions are:

1) What this increment value means? Cents?

2) What they mean with "detuning of the VCO1 pitch"? Unison only acts
over VCO1, VCO2 stays exacly in tune for all 5 voices?

3) Supose I selected 2 as detune value. Shall I understand this as
voice 1 sounding in tune, voice 2 with VCO1 + 2 "something", voice 3
with VCO1 + 4 "something", voice 4 with VCO1 + 6 "something" and so
on?

Thanks!
Arnaldo.

As far as I can see:

1) Probably arbitary units (note that 32 is half of 64, a convenient
fraction for 8 bit systems, and pan is also +/- 32)

2) Yes

3) I would imagine that the five (in mono) or 2 (in poly) are spread
equally between 0 and the value that detune is set to.

Hope this helps.

Scott.
