I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me.

If I'm following correctly, there is a verion of the AN1x Editor
that runs in Win XP? From my searches here, I thought I'd gleaned
that the original did not work w/in XP. Has there been an update to
XP that I overlooked?

Thanks again in advance to any/all insights. Given my nosing
around, ya'll are a very considerate bunch in terms of fielding
questions. And the archived resources linked to here are killer.

BTW, despite my problems w/ dl'ed voices, working w/the step
sequencer to create bass lines has really been working out well for
me. I do ambient/dubby stuff and I'm pretty awful at getting
basslines to sit right playing 'em on my own or trying to "step
sequence" w/ hardware or in Cubase, etc. Working w/ graphic
interface, I go into AN1x and then midi out to RS7000. Tune all
sixteen to tonic, then start tuning, gating and working velocity and
rests, along swing function in RS. I've only been at this approach
for a couple of days, but it is definately my preferred method now,
hands down.

AN1xEdit has not been updated in some time, but there are many more
success stories then failures reported to the list running under
WinXP. Check the list archives again and you'll find some tips for
getting the install to complete.

Regardless, as you've found firsthand, AN Expert Editor will NOT pass
the sysex to an AN1x with predictable results.

And yet another round of thanks for the clarification Jondl_2000.
Got the AN1xEditor up and running last night. (Don't know where I
went wrong on the first attempt to intall it....)

Then took advantage of the wonderful repository of voices this group
has assembled. So thanks to all involved.

Now that I'm integrating the AN1x in to my live rig, I'll probabably
be checking in more regularly, perusing tricks and tips, etc.

Take care. Long live the Blue Beastie!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
