My Falcon HD died as well. However, the HD is a standard LapTop HD, so
you could try opening it up, and replacing the HD with a new one. You
won't need much space...1 G will even do :-) 

However, I have just not got around to replacing mine yet..so I just
use discs, as the OS is inside and not dependant on a file system like
mac or Windows..so I just have all my apps on 1.4 Discs, and run 'em
from disc with no issues.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
