1040st newbie

i recently found one (literally on the side of the road) plugged it
in and it booted right up! the only thing i know is that i've always
wanted one because in the 80's this was THE midi pc to have.

any and all links and or info would be GREATLY appreciated. looking
for HW mods, i'm not afraid of a soldering iron, but a HD would be a
pretty necessary thing.

thanks

WOW!!! What a find! I once found an AtariXL (8 bit) computer on the road
(during "spring cleanup")

go to my faq page which has plenty of links...like the Atari Quick Faq which
should answer most of your Q's.

http://tamw.atari-users.net/download.htm

then go here and start downloading:

However, the beauty of Atari is that YOU DON"T NEED A HARD DRIVE!!!
You can run everything from disc(720K discs that is!!)I run my STe that
way...and it is QUIET!
