help sound in steem

2005-09-07 by rocknjive

Hi,
I've just joined and dont know anything about atari software and steem
and wonder if anyone can help.
I use windows xp and have steem running ok. I've been trying protrack
and cubase lite. Although they run ok and play the songs that come
with them, there is no sound. Can anyone advise how to get sound.
Also when using the record function on these, is it possible to input
from the computer keyboard. Any help/advice appreciated.
thanks.

Hi & welcome,

First, I would check that STEem is talking to your MIDI soundcard:
In STEem, click on the spanner icon (options) and check the
settings in the SOUND tab & in the PORTS tab.

If that doesn't work, can you be more specific about the problem. Is it
MIDI or sample playback that you can't hear? Is the normal PC sound ok?
Is your external MIDI sound device attached properly?

Check the settings & let us know if it works.

Good luck.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
