Ah, thanks.  That explains it.   SPI is it, then.

 

BTW, I ordered the SW200 contactor yesterday.   Rick at Tecknowledgey was
very helpful.

And there is the reason you probably won't find IIC support. At 400kHz it 
takes 20secs to read that even with no overhead. At 20MHz that drops to 
less than a second.
