There are those who tell me that AVR Studio is a reliable debugging platform too. I would agree, if allowed to use a different definition of "reliable".. I used a BA1FB programmer to do my first AVR project, which went from concept to delivery in six weeks, and never had any issues with it at all, and then went on to others from there. NO idea how many times I reprogrammed, but I would bet >500. I still have that 8515, date code "ES" in my parts bin. Today, I have AVRISPs that studio decides to completely ignore on some days, but otherwise work, Various Jtag ices that work or don't work depending on the phase of the moon, and a couple ICE-50's that work if they feel like it. All driven from Studio of course...
