RE: [AVR-Chat] My Avr

2008-03-19 by Philippe Habib

Just wait 'till you have a 16 year old of your own. Then you'll know what
not much money hanging around really means.

Now that I've got the smart ass comment out of the way, don't worry too much
about the lack of easy debug ability. A former boss used to tell us all not
to rely on that stuff too much. "Just use the computer in your head" he
used to say. Its easy to get caught up in all of the detail a good debugger
can provide and to spend a lot of time looking at every little nit instead
of thinking through the problem and the behavior and figuring out what can
cause that behavior.

I use a debugger at work, but only when code inspection and some simple
tests don't yield results, or after that approach has narrowed down where
the problem is.

Paul.

I see lots of little British Union Jacks next to the tech bulletins in the
suppot section. Maybe those are in English?

Subject: [AVR-Chat] My Avr

Hello, i recently purchased a "my avr" board from http://www.myavr.de/
But much to my disappointment the programming application was in
german. I am just a beginner, and was hoping to use this board to
educate myself. Could anyone advise if this board can be used with
other programming software? and if so, which is the best recommended one.
Many Thanks,

Paul.
