Hi, This is an old topic, but I have also purchased the MyAVR programmer board and was also disappointed by the fact that the accompanying software was in German. I have not tried the board yet (I haven't really got into AVR programming yet!), but looking at the documentation it appears that as long as the board is connected, AVR Studio can be set-up to communicate with it. The documentation states: QUOTE Use with AVR Studio Version 4.12.498 If you use the AVR studio, please choose "AVR Prog" in the menu Tools. The programmer has to be connected if you select the menu item. AVR Prog will find the mySmartUSB automatically. AVR-Prog is looking only at the COM-Ports 1 to 4. If the virtual COM-Port of mySmartUSB is higher then 4 AVR studio will not find it. In this case you need to select a valid COM-port in the system settings. Follow this procedure: open the device manager open the rubric: Ports (COM and LPT) themed open USB controller choose driver: "CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller (COMx)" right mouse button -> Properties-> Port settings -> Advanced modify and confirm COM-port number we recommend COM3 or COM4, Please notice possible driver conflicts END QUOTE The MyAVR document from which this was found was: techb_mysmartusb.pdf Cheers, Gavin --- In AVR-Chat@yahoogroups.com, "ei5gtb" <paul@...> wrote: > > Hello, i recently purchased a "my avr" board from http://www.myavr.de/ > But much to my disappointment the programming application was in > german.
