IMO, Radio Shacks pricing is more than 2 times. I think it's on the order of 3 to 4 times but given that they pacakge the parts in nice bubble packs for display and have to pay for retail space I can't see them being able to keep the doors open any other way. I buy from them if I'm prototyping something and don't want to wait for mail order. Otherwise, Digikey.com rocks. I can buy 200 resistors for $5.00 (all of 1 value) from them vs. Radio Shack where you get about 10 for $2.99. I'm not complaining. That's just life in the retail world.
