What I'm envisioning, is a parallel connection, 8 or preferrably 16 bit, with the AVR just strobing pins to achieve the transfers by hitting read on the dataflash, and write on the other device, and letting the one drive the other. I never need to "SEE" the data, I just need to shovel it.
