Hi, The problem seemed to go away after reloading AVRStudio but I'll have to keep my eye on it. I was opening the .elf file and the chip was set correctly. I'm using JTAG via Graham's ICE-Cube, not simulation. No added watch statement, just inspection when in the function. As I recall, what I saw was one value reported by AVRStudio when the mouse hovered over the argument and a different value displayed in the processor register set for the register that the assembly code showed as holding that variable. BTW: the code worked, using the correct value in execution. It seemed that only the value reported by AVRStudio was incorrect.
