RE: [AVR-Chat] Hi all..I'm new to AVRs :-)

2005-08-02 by David VanHorn

To bad AvrFreaks went dead just when I found it and all the great guys
that hang out there :-(

Some of us only hang out over here anyway :)

Just got my STK500 and a butterfly..I mounted them to a board...I put
up a photo in the photo section if you want to take a look :-)

Can't wait to really get into AVR asm and the free C compiler and see
how much smoke I can make...

I will be asking some questions here soon I am sure...they will be
real newbie types so be prepared :-)

Read up on configuration fuses, especially the clock.

Know that your AVR comes from the factory with the 1 MHz R/C osc enabled by
default.

Know that you can't set the programmer to faster than 250kHz on a new
device.

Know that AVRs reset on a VERY short pulse low on the /RESET line.
