Last night I was going over the documentation for the ATSTK500 board.  
As this thing seems to be the swiss army knife of programmers, it also 
comes with a lot of jumpers and cables.

I see that you can use either the clock signals from the board, OR you 
can put your own crystal on the board.  However, when I read through 
those directions, I could not make heads or tails of where to place 
the two related jumpers.

The jumpers I am referring to are XTAL1 and OSCSEL
