Sorry I thought you were looking in the list for an AVR644 which won't be there ... but the ATmega644 may not be there either as some of the newer processors need a different JTAG namely they require the MKII. I gave up on JTAG here, I have a MK I and an ICE that I used for ATmega32 work. Worked great but for newer work I just put in output were I need data and have written an old fashion serial debug capability into my software. I do just fine with old fashion techniques. JTAG when I was using it had a pretty flaky studio and it was a pain. Study the documentation for the device you have and the processor. You may be out of luck with the JTAG you have. I find the 644 a very nice chip and we just switch production from the 32 to the 644. The 644 has more flash but for us it has an ability to switch the processor clock divider from software which help keep the power down. Anyway good luck, didn't mean to infer anything other that a miss-read name like I've done many times.
