Historically availability has sometimes been an issue.  I've had products 
held up because I couldn't get LL parts, I've a related problem now actually.

In some cases low threshold voltages can be a problem as well, making a 
negative gate drive necessary.  Unfortunately that problem is appearing in 
high capability standard level FETs.
