Dixit, If you are looking for commercial reasons, check out: http://www.sunlux-india.com/MODBUSProtocolSuite.htm It seems to be a decent set of libraries available in all kinds of formats. If you are looking for academic reasons, I would strongly recommend you start by reading the Modbus specifications, at www.modbus.org. This would and some thought would provide an awesome learning experience. (If you are doing this commercially, but still have time, I would also recommend perusing the modbus website for the educational value.)
