Chuck, Take a look at Eddy Wright's Chibot Controller. http://www.wrighthobbies.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=43&products_id=124 ($9.95) You will also need a regular programmer (http://www.wrighthobbies.net/catalog/index.php?cPath=23) for $14.95 (only need one though) or you can build your own modified Sample Electronics programmer with a DB-25, 3 resistors and a short piece of cable (http://www.wrighthobbies.net/bots/ttbot/sample_electronics/programmer.pdf) This has about everything you need. You will need to add your own microcontroller (Mega-48, Mega-8, Mega-88. Mega-168, etc.) since this is meant as a more permanent upgrade to a solderless breadboard prototype controller. Eddy has -48s for only $2.69 (http://www.wrighthobbies.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=113) I am not an employee of Eddy's, but have worked with him extensively in the past and find him to be a great person to work with. He has great products and really good prices. For a much more powerful board (but also a bit more expensive) check out Eddy's DevBoard-M32 (http://www.wrighthobbies.net/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=30). I know that this seems like a commercial, but I do not get anything out of this except helping out a good man. AVR Prototype board Posted by: "Chuck Hackett" egroupscdh@up844.us egroupscdh Tue Sep 16, 2008 8:36 am (PDT) I have a project (Signals for a 7.5" gauge railroad) that I need to get up and running quickly. I am working on the design of a custom board based on an ATMEGAxxx to support a wide range of functionality but I do not have time to layout and produce the boards (Eagle, toner transfer, etch, stuff) I need for a minimal system up and running in the time I have. What I'm looking for is an inexpensive prototyping board (in the USA) that I can get to support my initial requirements. I figure I'll need 8-10 of them. Initial requirements: .
