Could people who upload file let us know what the file is all about with a better description, Isn't this
a logical thing to do, who knows I might be making a issue over nothing, ,

It appears to be an Olimex schematic of a development board. Depending on
how Olimex feels about their files showing up all over the place, this
might be a copyright infringement.

Thanks Robert

I see no reason why I need to be distracted from getting on with my AVR project.

MATE!! Loging into Yahoo or any other system is something
one learns at computer kindy :-) What's the big deal ?
Usually I ignore new files uploaded unless they interest me.
The message is generated by the Yahoo server. It is a LOT EASIER
and kinder to the members for someone to post the file in the
file (or pictures) area than send a 10GB file to all in the group
which may not have any interest in it, will get VERY annoyed at
receiving perceived junk mail etc..

By the way your website clock seems to be out by about half an hour.
8:01 Sydney time shows 9:31 NZ time. And the screen test don't seem
to work with my computer.

John Samperi

I agree on that one, The "new file uploaded" message isn't much good.
I think the schematic has to do with the "serial programmer" thread.

My suggestion is, but i'm only a short-term member so who cares, not to
send the "new file" notice at all(there's a checkbox), but instead send a
link in a "normal" message. This also allows to ignore files that are part
of a thread which one has no interest in reading because the link is in a
message with proper subject and not just "new file uploaded".
At least the description should make sense if the "new file" notice is
sent.

But hey, that just what i think would be best for all, nobody will stick
to it because nobody never cares about file posting rules or "good
manners". After all we are not stupid, we can deal with it. If i don't
know what the schematic does or where it belongs to i'll just ignore it, i
don't see much problem with that. It is only in the interest of the poster
to provide the file in a comfortable way if he wants it seen. If he
doesn't particularly care about that, well, then i don't care seeing it.

I usually ignore new file uploaded messages alltogether, if the contents
are interesting there are always proper posts referring to it. You can try
that...
