AVRISP firmware update - help

Hi, i have upgraded the firmware of the AVRISP to the latest version 
and now i can´t use it with the CodeVision AVR C compiler.
Does anyone know how can i fix this without getting a new version of 
the compiler?

You're lucky. I've just bought an AVRISP and it won't upgrade itself. My distributor is looking into it.

Get the previous version of Astudio, go into the STK500 subdirectory and run the upgrade process using the old image. Make sure you get the STK500 into "program" mode before running the upgrade.

I solved it by performing a "Manual Firmware Update" of the
AVRISP, following the procedure described in the AVRStudio online-help
after uninstalling V4.11 and reinstalling the previous version of 
AVRStudio:
ATMEL AVR Tools On-Line Help -> AVRISP User's Guide -> Getting 
Started ->
Manual Firmware Upgrade.

I eventually managed it by skipping a step in the procedure that was 
failing. It then reprogrammed itself without any problems - weird!

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
