AVR-Chat

all right I couldn't make myself clear enough.
What I specifically want to know is about the interfacing of common 
display devices like :
1.LCD Display,
2.television Screen.
If I develop some primitive game playing application(say checkers or 
any such thing) LED's won't be that effective.what options do I have 
then.
Kindly give details abt input options also,again apart from keyboard 
which i currently use. 
(I'm working on Mega-8 kit).

I use it as well, on my desktop PC. It doesn't work on my laptop, with a 
USB-RS-232 converter. 8-(

Realterm (apart from an odd way of sending data out), is soooooooo kewl 
:) It does everything I need :) and is OPEN SOURCE :)

I have two by ST-Labs that use the Prolient (SP?) chip set, and it is 
not the best, but that is more to do with the USB spec, Laptops and 
SLEEP MODE :(

But I am moving to Unix soon (Fedora Core4 if it likes my laptop, then 
my desktops will change) (servers are FreeBSD V4.X and need to be 
upgraded soon (as I want mail filtering and virus detection)

You have to get the data sheet for the particular part you are going to 
use.  

I've used several Optrex LCD displays with the HD44780 LCD driver chip.  I 
have data sheets both for the HD44780 and the Optrex data sheet for their 
displays telling how to set up and use them. 

But you have to start with the data sheet for the particular component you 
plan to use.

Typing in part numbers in Google search will often yield data sheets you 
can download.

Do a search on eBay for the seller "petroelb".  He always seems to have 
several LCD displays for sale and I have bought many of them from him.

As I mentioned before, I have data sheets for the HD44780 and the Optrex 
manual.  I see one is already in the files section - "dmcman_full.pdf". I 
could contribute the HD44780 file for the files section if it would be 
useful.

Kat,

Is there a way of changing the microscopic font in the terminal window? Looked 
everywhere & can't find anything. Don't have delphi to rebuild it.  Also would 
be nice to have a way of writing to excel from the terminal as opposed to the 
other way around.

First ever program which has crashed my WinXP box all the way back to a warm 
reboot. Pressed a button on the page with the GPIB stuff.
