Have a look on avrfreaks.com, there is a long and rather detailed
description of your exact problem at this address (should be all one

This appears to be a common problem with the butterfly device - sounds
like the lock bits get set inadvertently due to a comms error, which
then prevents AVRProg from programming it - you need to erase and
reprogram it using the ISP connector and an ISP programmer to rescue it.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
