Ongoing programming issues, still...

Ongoing programming issues, still...

2006-06-23 by Jay Dagenais

I recently have started getting all sorts of issues when trying to download cade into my devices using the AVRISP dongle supplied with my STK300 dev board(Kanda). The board and dongle are really outdated, and apparently has all sorts of issues with cable length and line protection, so I just finished building the 'even_better_pppd_mod' dongle as posted on teh AVR Freaks site. This didn't work either, the message I keep getting is a connection error. I have tried using the AVRISP software supplied with the dev board, but it is so outdated that it doesn't support the attiny45 device I am trying to load(and Kanda wants to charge me for the updated patch), AVRDude5.0, which supports the device but not the programmer I think (connection error message..) and AVRStudio4 which doesn't seem to connect to either dongle??? I am just at the end of my rope here, so seeking a solution that has been confirmed to work.(both software and hardware pleez...) PS, I have no cash to buy hardware, so request DIY solutions that don't involve building hardware that itself needs to be flashed to werk! Thanks in advance, jaydag71

We have suggested ponyprog. Have you looked at at it?
Does it support the chip you have? If not you are unfortunately
stuck and no matter how much you plead it won't help and you may
have to part with some money and buy a programmer.
