Can anyone point me to a 6 pin keyed header for ISP programming to match the AVRISP-II? To put on a PCB we build. Digikey would be nice but I'm having no luck finding them anywhere and nothing in the board history either. A pointer in a message to Farnell 302-1993 is for the IDC connector but no luck finding the matching header at Farnell either. Thanks, Jim

We use the following Harting connectors from Farnell: 109-6979 (Harting 0918 506 7323) - Right-angle, and 109-6984 (Harting 0918 506 7324) - Straight. They're sometimes called 'box headers'. Thanks. I had been looking for some hard to find connectors as well. The Mouser online catalog seems to work better then most. And online data sheets with pictures. A link to the part I think Jim is looking for http://www.mouser.com/catalog/626/1029.pdf

If your neat with heat shrink they still look quite professional. JR

Thanks for the leads. Mouser does not appear to have anything in 6 pin. If you can point out a stock number that would be great. I ordered some 1096979 from Farnell which is their new stock number for the Harting 0918 506 7323 noted below. 5 day delivery is the best they can do. On the phone Newark lists it as their part number 87K2052 which does not come up online and they do not stock (5 weeks in large quantizes). If anyone has an alternate source, preferably in the US, I'd appreciate a lead. I guess we are a bit spoiled by overnight delivery available from DigiKey and others. So I have about 150 PCBs with the 10 pin ISP header on the shelf. They are going to get tossed so we can spin new boards with the 6 pin header to match the ARVISP MKII. Just a thought... Have you considered a converter cable? Maybe make one or maybe someone makes one. This would allow you to plug in the ISP 6 pin on one end and then the 10 pin plug the other end of the cable into your board for programming. Shame to scrap 150 boards. The AVRISP (mk I) that I have came with two cables: you'd snap it apart, then choose the 6-pin or 10-pin cable. Didn't the mk II come with these? Adaptor made. Crimped a 10 pin hdr onto the 6 pin AVRISP-II cable to get going. Have to make 4 more. More on 6 pin headers for new boards later. Jim

The AVRISP (mk I) that I have came with two cables: you'd snap it apart, then choose the 6-pin or 10-pin cable. Didn't the mk II come with these?
