Hi Folks,
What is the most popular method/device for working up a prototype
using the tiny13 chip? I have the STK500. Is this good enough? How
about using the debugWIRE? What works with that?
Should I hold out for a Dragon? Digi-key lists a ship date of 9/15/06
but that might be wishful thinking.
Thanks,

That should do the hardware interface bit,

You will still need the Dragon or JTAICEMK2 for DW.
Of course if you get the Dragon you have a small
prototype where you could put the Tiny13 and won't
need the STK500 as well.

I received my Dragon from Digikey 2 weeks ago... haven't had time to use
it, but that's another story.
Nothing to stop you from getting one on order. Perhaps they fill the
earliest backorders first?

There's a DIP socket on the STK500 that you can plug the Tiny13 into and
program with. You may find that you have to remove jumpers after
programming, though, depending on your circuit. A better solution might
be to wire up a breadboard with the Tiny13 on it and put a programming
header or cable on it so you can plug the STK500 onto it to program.

The debugWIRE is supported by the jtagII ICE and the Dragon, but I don't
know when they're coming out.

Digi-key has been known for wishful thinking in the past.
