Haven't seen the atmel video podcasts, hopefully they are better than
the TI ones , which are seem mostly marketing bs.
Have you seen the avr32 networking board, which Atmel is selling
(when available in the next fortnight supposedly) for US$69 ?

Digikey gives an availability of the 04/13/2007 ATNGW100-ND KIT
Unfortunately thats not one of the flash chips avr32uc , on the board
but not bad for the price.
Will be very interested to see the price of the EVK1100 board.

avr32gcc and avr32 studio(eclipse based) seen to work pretty well.
Avr32gcc plays nicely installed along side winavr.
Has to have cygwin installed though.

Nice thing is the jtag mark2 is supposed to work for the avr32's as well.
Came across a good offer at digikey
pack of an stk500 +jtagmark2 for US$150 AVRDEVKIT2-ND
(half the price of the jtag mark2 by itself)

Even though it says zero in stock, I was still able to order one.
