John Samperi:

I believe it was you whohad located a source for jumpers for the AVR
Dragon. Could you please repost that URL? The Fragon is my only hope
for getting this program on the ATtiny25 running, since AVRStudio
doesn;t support timer simulations.

It's www.ere.co.th, then products and then cables. I hope the full
link below works. I would strongly suggest getting a 40 pin ZIF
socket too for the Dragon, then you can wire up pretty much any
PDIP chips without too many problems. I got a full set (10) of all
colour wires in the 15cm range.

Sad note (and warning) from the USA:

I tried to buy a bunch from the Ere folks when this first came up a few week back. I filled out the on-line
order, put in my Visa debit card numbers, hit "Do It" and promptly had my order rejected and my card frozen
by Visa. It seems that Visa thinks that any orders from Thailand are bogus. It took about an hour on the
phone with my bank to get my card unfrozen.

Even though the Sparkfun parts cost a bit more and only come in one length, on-line orders work.

I hope the Sparkfun parts work on the Dragon: I just ordered a bunch a couple days ago...

I had a similar experience but not as dramatic. I forgot my
Verified by Visa password....so the order got rejected 3 or 4
times. The people there were quite good and finally had to sort
it all out by phone with my bank.

BUT better safe than sorry. I have been proposing to Amex some
form of secure site purchase approval, but of course everybody would
have to do it. In other words you log into the credit card provider's
secure website, and make some list of UNUSUAL purchases that you can
approve so that the provider knows that it is not a scam.

I had lots of problem trying to get stuff from Mouser too in the US.

Re: [AVR-Chat] jumper wires

Several times I tried to order from www.ere.co.th us a credit card issued
through Bank of America and it failed to complete. The people at ERE said
they never got my payment from Bank of America.

Then I tried my Capital One card and it went through as expected. That was
on a Tuesday or Wednesday. So the shipment could be track I had it shipped
express, not via snail-mail. On Saturday the jumpers were delivered by
FedEx.

So if you are having trouble on overseas orders, especially the
closer-to-third-world countries, the problem could be your credit card
provider does not have connections in that country.

After looking at the SparkFun jumpers, the connectors look exactly like the
ones form ERE. They say they are 100mm long, about 4 inches. Mine are 150mm,
6 in. The ones in the picture, judging by the size of the US quarterdollar,
they must be the 150mm jumpers.

ERR jumpers come in packages of 10 all the same color. They have 10
different colors.

SparkFun comes in packages of 10, 2 of each color.

Poor man like myself? I loot my jumpers from old PC cases- They are
usually abundant in desktops, especially the older ones. I literally
have tons of them from looting old systems in the past few years. The
great thing is they cost nothing, many times they are double end
connected, sometimes they are single end connected (good for pluggin
into yer breadboard.

 good luck,, jd

There now is a US based source for these jumper cables:

http://www.wizbangdesigns.com/other_devel.html

This is a set of 50 15 cm cables for $10.00, with low shipping. Tom
plans to carry the 30 cm cables too. He also has other goodies for
the Dragon!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
